Frequently asked questions
Find answers to the most common questions about Hexer Caller, technical requirements, installation and support.
Technical requirements
No. Hexer Caller works on any tablet with Android 8.0 or newer. We recommend models with an IPS screen (not OLED) for 24/7 operation, e.g. the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 or Lenovo Tab M11. Why IPS? OLED/AMOLED screens are prone to pixel burn-in - when the same image is displayed for a long time (e.g. a company logo or contact list), it leaves a permanent mark on the screen. IPS/LCD screens do not have this problem and are much cheaper to replace, which makes them the ideal choice for devices running non-stop.
Phone calls require a SIM card with a voice plan. Internet (WiFi or LTE) is optional - useful for remote updates and configuration backup.
Installation and setup
A typical installation takes 15-30 minutes: downloading the app from Google Play, configuration in the admin panel, and mounting the tablet.
Hexer Caller has a built-in watchdog - it automatically restarts the app if it freezes. It also launches automatically after the device restarts.
