Hexer Dial (“the App”) is a kiosk dialer application developed by Hexer - Maksymilian Skornog (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
Information We Access
The App requires the following permissions to function as a kiosk dialer. The App must be set as the default phone/dialer app to handle calls:
Place Calls (CALL_PHONE)
Required to place phone calls, which is the core functionality of the App.
Answer Calls (ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS)
Required to answer incoming phone calls through the in-call interface.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Used to display incoming call alerts and kiosk service status notifications.
Full-Screen Intent (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT)
Allows the incoming call screen to appear over the lock screen for immediate call handling.
Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK)
Keeps the screen on during active calls and in kiosk mode to ensure accessibility.
Auto-Start (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
Enables the App to automatically restart after device reboot in kiosk deployments.
Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM)
Used for crash recovery and kiosk reliability - allows the App to automatically restart after unexpected errors.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE)
Required to run the kiosk watchdog service that monitors app health and ensures reliability.
Default Phone App Role
The App requests to be set as the default phone/dialer app on your device. This is required because:
- Android requires a default dialer to handle outgoing and incoming calls
- The App provides a simplified, kiosk-friendly call interface
- Without this role, the App cannot place or receive calls
You can change your default phone app at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Default apps > Phone app.
Information We Collect
The App stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Contact names and phone numbers you configure in the admin panel
- App settings (colors, language preferences, work schedule)
- Admin password (encrypted with AES-256-GCM)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect call logs or call history
- We do not collect personal information about callers
- We do not transmit any data to external servers
- We do not use analytics or tracking services
- We do not display advertisements
Data Storage & Security
All data is stored locally on your device using Android's secure storage mechanisms:
- Sensitive settings are encrypted using AES-256-GCM via Android Keystore
- Admin passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 with 120,000 iterations
- No data is transmitted over the internet
- No cloud backup or synchronization is performed
Backup & Restore
The App includes a manual backup and restore feature:
- Backup files are created locally and can be shared via Android's share menu
- Backup files contain your configured contacts, settings, and preferences
- No automatic cloud backup is performed
- You control where backup files are stored or shared
Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The only network activity is standard Android telephony for placing phone calls.
Data Deletion
You can delete all App data at any time by:
- Going to Android Settings > Apps > Hexer Dial > Clear Data
- Uninstalling the App
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
